Summer Care: How to Keep Your Kids Healthy

Who does not love the summer? We all have fond memories of our childhood, playing in the outside with our friends in the sprinklers with the sun beaming on us.

While this beautiful season comes with wonderful things, it also brings with it mosquitoes and strong UVB rays that can harm your little ones. With a little caution, you can make sure that your child is safe and healthy during this time of the year.Keep your kids safe this summer

Ways to Keep Your Child Healthy During the Summer:

There are many ways to make sure that your little one is healthy and safe from illnesses during the summer, which include the following:

  • Keep Your Child Dry: The summer season brings with it added humidity. Kids tend to sweat a lot in the season, so it is important to make sure that your child’s skin is always dry. This will prevent prickly-heat, fungal infections and discomfort. It is best to make your little one wear cotton clothes during this season.

  • Encourage Personal Hygiene: This is an important time to encourage your child to practice personal hygiene even more as your environment will be more polluted due to the heat. Make sure that little ones wash their hands after playing and before meals. They should also always wear clothes even when they are just out on the balcony or porch.

  • Make Sure Food and Water Are Clean: During the summer, food and water can get polluted easily. It is vital to make sure that your little ones drink boiled or filtered water. Any foods that you buy should also be thoroughly washed before being cooked or eaten.

  • Keep Your Home Clean: Water-borne diseases and those that spread through mosquitoes can be rampant during the summer season. Make sure that your home is well-ventilated and properly sanitized at all times with insect repellants and air vaporizers.
