Father’s Day: What Preschoolers Can Do to Surprise Their Dads

Little boys aspire to be “him” and little girls think he’s the “King of the World.” A dad is the first important male figure in a child’s life. Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity for the little ones to show how important this special man is to them.

Father’s Day: What Preschoolers Can Do to Surprise Their Dads

Some of the most precious gifts for dads around the world have been lovingly created by little hands. Here are some ideas to choose from to make this Father’s Day a special event for your child and that special man they call “Dad”!

  • Present a Golden Frame
  • Gather odd puzzle pieces and spray paint them gold. While the paint dries, make a simple frame by gluing popsicle sticks together. Use glue to attach the gold puzzle pieces to the popsicle frame. Next, find a picture that fits in the center of the frame and glue it on from the back.

  • Give Him Sweet Berries
  • Wash strawberries and let them drain. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave and dip the berries in chocolate and then sprinkle colored sugar. Give him these sweet berries in a pretty box and let him enjoy this homemade treat.

  • Create a Money Tree
  • Get a styrofoam cone and floral wire. Fold paper money bills in accordion style and tie a piece of floral wire around the center. Arrange the “leaves” on the styrofoam tree by poking the ends of the floral wire into it.

  • Make a Handprint Art
  • Have your child dip her hand in paint and then on a sheet of paper. Give her crayons or markers and see what she can create from the handprint. Frame the print. Your simple Father’s Day handprint art will last for years to come.

  • Coupons
  • Have your child think of several chores or nice things to do for dad and write each one on a slip of paper. Fold the papers and place them in a small jar with a ribbon around the top. This fun activity will make Father’s Day memorable for dad.

  • Create a Picture Collage
  • Help your child make a picture collage that shows the precious father and child moments. Print out cute photographs and place them or string them up on picture frames to create a Father’s Day special collage.

  • Write a Beautiful Message
  • Nothing is more precious than a handwritten message. Let your child write a beautiful message for dad to show how much they love him. This will make him feel special and loved. You can frame the message that dad can treasure forever.

Help your child with these crafts and activities to surprise dad on Father’s Day.
